9-30-14

Today since we have a large group of students who want to participate in FTC we decided to split in to 3 different teams to build 3 different robots and 3 different chassis. In order to build a sufficient robot that is competition ready. We have started our fundraiser for our team and our field is currently being built and put together and should be ready by Friday.

Our goals for this are to find a fridge and get it to the school by Friday. We are almost doing making a solid model of the robot's chassis. We got the oven in class today so we can start baking as soon as club dues are in. We also began putting the field together and doing research on the components needed to build the new field. We plan on going to home depot to buy some of the materials needed to build the new field.

came up with team roster
look for sponsorship
sell snacks in class
contacted head of robotics for south florida
contacted advanced green technology and 3M for sponsorships

This week we plan on doing some research on different ways to raise money for our robotics team. We came up with a few ideas on how to go about doing so and some of the ways included researching doing a fundraiser with Jack's Links by selling beef jerky at our school. Another way would be to sell snacks during class to raise money. We also decided we needed a full team roster of who's on the team so that was started today. We also decided to have a short meeting for robotics on Wednesday (9-10-14). Also we we're able to get in contact with the head of robotics for south Florida and hopefully we will be able to do some sort of out reach. We have also contacted 3M and Advanced Green technology for sponsorship's.

End of Week Two

Accomplishments:

Team meet up at andreas's house
Start gathering resources to make an indie gogo page
Decided not to attend FTC pre-season related events
Car wash+candy sales were denied

At the end of week two, we held a team meet up at Andreas's house where we watched the FTC kickoff video, and discussed ideas for founding, strategy, and design. We also pooled resources to make an indie-gogo page, and decided not to attend FTC pre-season related events. The two fundraising ideas we had thought of at the beginning of the week which were a car wash and the candy sales were both denied. The reason why is because for the car wash we didn't have enough people willing to participate. The reason why we could not do candy sales is because we did not have enough time and too many other clubs were having candy sales.
